Rev. Tommy Rush, Pastor

Tommy Rush became the pastor at First Baptist Church of Natchitoches on June 1, 2003. Bro. Tommy and his wife, Leigh, come to our church from the state of Alabama. In June 2012, our pastor will begin his 28th year in ministry. He is passionate about his love for the Lord, as well as, his love for his family and God's people. We are excited about the vision that God is revealing to our pastor for the ministry of First Baptist Church, Natchitoches.

Rev. Benjamin Keen, Minister of Music & Senior Adults

Ben has loved worshiping God through music from a very young age. His love of music led him to Tennessee Technological University where he received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. During his senior year he felt called to full time music ministry and proceeded to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he pursued a Master of Music in Music Ministry degree. Upon graduation he began serving Irving Baptist Fellowship in Irving, TX as the Minister of Music/Youth and then moved to Broadmoor Baptist in Shreveport, LA where he filled the role of Associate Minister of Music. After serving in Shreveport for seven years, God called him to join the staff of First Baptist Church Natchitoches where he now serves as teh Minister of Music and Senior Adults. He is married to Colleen and they have four daughters: Avery, Regan, Charis, and Darby.

Mrs. Shea Boyt, Director of Preschool Ministry

Shea is married to Tommy Boyt and they have four children, Andrew, Emily, Jacob, and John. She and her family have been members of First Baptist Church for 11 years. Shea joined the staff as Preschool Ministry Director at First Baptist Church in July, 2007, after volunteering with the Preschool Ministry for several years prior. Shea directs the Sunday Morning Preschool Sunday School and Worship Care Ministries. She also directs the Preschool Wednesday night Ministry Music and Missions. Shea has a "heart" for young children and young families. She loves watching as a child's faith in Christ develops and grows. She enjoys begin able to offer the foundational learning that each child needs to become a Child of God.

Mrs. Shannon Dark, Director of Children's Ministry

Shannon Dark was born in Ruston, LA and actually lived in Natchitoches as a little girl. Her family moved to Magnolia, AR. She attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Tech, she met David Dark in a geography class and convinced him that he could not live without her; they married in 1995. Shannon taught school for a few years and then decided to stay home with their 3 great kids, Dalton, Carley, and Grant. She has volunteered in the children's department for 13 years and has been the Children's Ministry Director since 2009. Shannon likes to spend time with her family, read, and go to the beach.

Mrs. Peggy Cedars, Ministry Assistant

Peggy is married to Bobby Cedars and they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. They have been members of First Baptist Church for six years. Peggy began working at First Baptist Church as a Ministry Assistant in December 2007. She works in the front office and is the voice and face of FBC. Peggy also serves as a greeter during Sunday School in the Children's Department and volunteers in the Church Nursery Extended Care Program.
