Your participation in the Music Ministry makes YOU a Worship Leader: Leadership is influence. We can impress people with our talents and abilities but we influence people only with our passion and heart. Your effectiveness as a worship leader is determined by your love for God, love for people, and love for worship. (Deuteronomy 10:12-13)
God is honored in excellence: God deserves our best because He gave His best through Christ, and everything He does is perfect. Your participation in the ministry is an offering to God. You offer your best by rehearsing faithfully, being punctual and dependable, supporting the leadership and remaining flexible according to the needs of this ministry. (1 Corinthians 3:10; 10:31)
Participation in the Music Ministry is not a substitute for spiritual growth or serving as God leads in other necessary functions of the Church. Your spiritual growth, fellowship with the church family, demonstration of the fruit of the Spirit and faithful witness will enable you to properly relate and contribute to the movement and ministry of this church. (Philippians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 2:15)
You are not participating in the Music Ministry because you are good: you have been given the opportunity by God because He is good. His grace has allowed you the joy of representing Him in spite of your imperfections. In 2 Corinthians 4:5, the Apostle Paul said, "For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake."
