The Landing is for students in seventh through twelfth grades and offers them hope for all the amazing things God has in store for them. The Landing isn't just for kids facing addiction issues. It's for students that have hurts they can't deal with, hang-ups that have them spinning out of control, or who aren't really sure what's going on, but they know something is wrong. By working through the Christ-centered principles among a community of peers and caring adults, students gain access to tools which enable them to give their hurt, habit, or hang-up to Jesus and find true healing and victory. Weekly lessons follow a two-hour schedule that includes music, small groups, games, and teaching times. Every lesson closes with a time of commitment, reflection, worship, and the Serenity Prayer. Here are some things that make The Landing so exciting:
- It's experience based. Instead of students learning in a lecture format, they get involved with the lessons. They'll write, draw, talk, move, worship and much more.
- The lessons are based on the Celebrate Recovery lessons. Students will experience lessons on Denial, Turn, Spiritual Inventory--the same lessons taught in Celebrate Recovery but presented in ways that apply directly to them.
- Fun videos from the Skit Guys.
- Students will write out their inventories and their testimonies.
